Mount Olive, N.C. (2/28/23) The Dominican University New York baseball team opened a two-game series with the University of Mount Olive this afternoon.

Mount Olive, N.C. (2/28/23) The Dominican University New York baseball team opened a two-game series with the University of Mount Olive this afternoon.
The Chargers fell to the Trojans to bring their overall record to 1-4 early on this season.
Tyler Richman (Sunrise, Fla.) recorded two RBIs in the loss. Benjamin Avila (Walden, N.Y.) recorded an RBI-double to open the scoring in the first inning.
David Knepper (Miami, Fla.) and Darian Almonte (Orangeburg, N.Y.) each added RBI-singles. Christian Fils-Aime (North Babylon, N.Y.) finished 1-4 with a double and scored one run.
The Trojans were led by Alden Cottle who went 4-5 with a game high six RBIs and two homers. Joshua Jones added three hits including a homer and three RBIs. Jack Casbarro finished with two hits including a double and three RBIs.
Vito Patierno went 3-5 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored.
The Chargers and the Trojans finish the two-game series on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
