
SETTERS UPEND DOMINICAN BASEBALL

With the loss the Chargers are now 1-10 on the season, while the Setters improve to 5-1.
The Setters struck first with three runs in their first at-bat, but Dominican countered with two runs in the second on Joseph Coppola's (Cornwall, N.Y.) double to left center field.
Pace rebuilt a 4-2 lead with a run in the bottom of the second, however the Chargers answered back in the third, scoring three runs on three hits. First basemen Stefano Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) delivered an RBI double down the left field line and sophomore Alexander Reyes (Bronx, N.Y.) followed with a two-run single up-the-middle to give Dominican the 5-4 lead.
A four-run bottom of the third regained the lead for the Setters, 8-5, but a two-run single off the bat of Tyler Richman (Sunrise, Fla.) cut the deficit to 8-7. Pace scored runs in their half of the fifth, sixth and seventh to extend the lead to 13-7.
Dominican scored a run in the eighth on Richman's RBI single to right center field and the Setters matched the run in the bottom of the eighth for the eventual 14-8 final score.
Richman finished with two hits and three RBI for the Chargers.
Libio, Reyes and Jean Nunez (New York, N.Y.) also all had two hits in the loss.
Starter John Stoliker (Guilderland, N.Y.) suffered the loss.
Dominican returns to Pace tomorrow for a non-conference game slated to begin at 3pm.
