The Golden Knights (11-16) led 2-0 after two innings of play, but designated hitter Dominic Morabito (Groton, Conn.) evened the score in the third with a two-run home run over the left field fence to tie the game, 2-2.
Saint Rose answered back in their half of the third with five runs and added a run in the fourth to rebuild a 8-2 lead. The Chargers scored a run on a sacrifice fly ball to left field off the bat of Davin Keddell-Tuckey (Troy, N.Y.). Shortstop David Knepper (Miami, Fla.) followed with a run-scoring single to right field to cut the deficit to 8-4.
Dominican added two more runs in the eighth as first basemen Jason Sosa-Rivas (Yonkers, N.Y.) blasted a two-run home run to left field to pull the Chargers within two, 8-6. The Golden Knights added two runs in the bottom of the eighth for the eventual 10-8 win.
Third basemen Peter Kiefer (Waterford, Conn.) went 3-4 in the game with two runs scored. Morabito and Sosa-Rivas both had two hits and two RBIs in the loss.
Reliever John Stoliker (Guilderland, N.Y.) suffered the loss.
The Charges return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Caldwell University.
