The Chargers improve to 11-31 overall and 8-12 in conference play while UB falls to 8-35 overall and 4-17 in conference play.
Andrew Wilson (Scotia, N.Y.) tossed six strong innings allowing only one run and recorded two strikeouts. Wilson surrendered three hits in the game and earned his second win of the season.
The Chargers took an early 1-0 lead after a lead off double by Peter Kiefer (Waterford, Conn.) who later scored on a sacrifice fly by Ty Gilligan (Ringwood, N.J.).
Bridgeport tied the game in the bottom of the second inning after an RBI-single by James Ackerman.
The Chargers regained the lead in the top of the fourth inning after an RBI-single by Benjamin Avila (Walden, N.Y.) which brought home Tyler Richman (Sunrise, Fla.). Avila's single would turn out to be the game winning hit.
Davin Keddell-Tuckey (Troy, N.Y.) entered in relief and pitched three shutout innings while striking out four hitters for his first save of the season.
Richman finished with two hits including a double and Gilligan finished with one hit and the first RBI of the game. Jason Sosa-Rivas (Yonkers, N.Y.) also added one hit.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow for their final non-conference game of the season when they take on St. Thomas Aquinas College at Clover Stadium at 3:30 PM.
