Waterbury, Conn. (4/6/24) The Dominican University New York baseball team suffered two losses to Post University tonight, 4-3 and 12-2, in games played at Municipal Stadium.
Following the contests, the Chargers now stand at 10-20 overall and 5-5 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
Game One: Post scored two runs in their half of the first, but Dominican tied the game with two runs in the second on the two out two-run double to left center field by Ryan Bongiorno (Stanhope, N.J.).
The Eages regained the lead with two runs in the fourth for a 4-2 advantage, but the Chargers got a run back in the seventh on the RBI groundout by Davin Keddell-Tuckey (Troy, N.Y.) for the final 4-3 score.
Left fielder Tyler Richman (Sunrise, Fla.) went 3-3 in the loss.
Anthony Leak (Pelham, N.Y.) took the complete game loss, striking out nine batters.
Game Two: An RBI groundout by Keddell-Tuckey gave Dominican the 1-0 lead in the first, but the Eagles scored a run in the second to make the score 1-1.
The Chargers added a run in the third as Keddell-Tuckey reached on a first base which allowed David Knepper (Miami, Fla.) to score and regain a 2-1 edge.
Post countered with a three-run third stanza and added runs in each of the four remaining innings for the 12-2 win.
Knepper went 2-3 in the game, while Keddell-Tuckey had two RBI.
Charger starter Jedadiah Trudeau (Cohoes, N.Y.) suffered the loss in five innings of work.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Holy Family University at Clover Stadium. First pitch of the double-header is slated for 12pm.
