Staten Island, N.Y. (3/11/25) The Dominican University New York baseball team downed the College of Staten Island Dolphins, 27-1, this evening in non-conference action at SIUH Community Park.
With the win Dominican improves to 5-4 on the season.
The Chargers scored 27 runs on 30 hits, amassed 27 RBIs and scored runs in eight of the nine innings. DUNY had two six-run innings in the game.
Second basemen Ryan Bongiorno led Dominican with five hits, five RBIs and three runs scored in the victory.
Jaden Maia went 4-6 with four runs scored and two RBIs in the win, while Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player and Rookie of the Week, Erick Diaz, collected seven RBIs on three hits and scored four runs.
Four other Chargers had three hits a-piece in the win.
Isaiah Figueroa earned his first win of the season after going six innings, scattering thre hits and collecting six strikeouts.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Pace University.
