Lyndhurst, N.J. (3/16/25) The Dominican University New York baseball team wrapped up their four-game series today with host, Felician University, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header played this afternoon.
The Golden Falcons won the first game, 6-5, while the Chargers took the nightcap, 5-4.
Dominican now stands at 8-6 overall and 2-2 in CACC play.
Game One: The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth inning when the Chargers struck for four runs. Shortstop David Knepper hit a two-run double and a third run came home on a Golden Falcon error. Knepper later scored on the RBI ground out by Ryan Bongiorno for the 4-0 advantage.
Felician got a run back in the bottom of the sixth and added three more in the seventh to knot the game, 4-4. DUNY re-took the lead in the top of the eighth as Knepper delivered a run-scoring triple down the right field line for the 5-4 edge, but the Golden Falcons got the run back in the bottom of the eighth and scored the game-winner in the ninth on an error for the 6-5 victory.
Centerfielder Erick Diaz went 3-5 in the game, while four other players had two hits a-piece. Knepper finished the game with three RBIs.
John Stoliker took the loss.
Game Two: The Chargers scored a run in the first on the RBI double down the right field line off the bat of Jake Chaisongkram and added three more in the second on back-to-back Golden Falcon error for the early 4-0 lead.
Felician got on the board with a run in the sixth and scored three more in the seventh to tie the game at 4-4. Dominican scored the game-winner in the eighth on a Golden Falcon error for the 5-4 win.
Diaz and Chaisongkram had two hits each in the win.
Reliever Jedadiah Trudeau picked up the win in two innings of relief.
Dominican is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Chestnut Hill College.
