Pomona, N.Y. (4/6/25) The Dominican University New York baseball team completed the weekend series with Bloomfield College of Montclair State University by defeating the Bears, 14-1 and 21-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played today at Clover Stadium.
With the win Dominican improves to 24-11 overall and 18-6 in conference play.
The win in game two also markes Head Coach Rick Giannetti's 950th career victory.
Game One: The Chargers scored runs in the first four innings for the 14-1 victory.
Erick Diaz and Ian Labrador both went 3-4 in the win, while Labrador recorded four RBIs and Diaz scored three runs.
Byron Arias, Kevin Hirsch and Jean Nunez had two hits each, while Hirsch had two RBIs.
Catcher Ty Gilligan recorded three RBIs in the game.
John Stoliker earned the win in six innings of work.
Game Two: The Charger offense exploded for 13 runs in the first inning as they cruised to the 21-1 win.
Myles Vazquez and Hirsch both had three hits in the game, with Vazquez recording four RBIs and Hirsch adding two.
Four other players had two hits each, while Jaden Maia and Diaz finished the game with four RBIs.
Reliever Josh Harrison picked up the win.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday when they host Wilmington University.
