
STEFKOVICH TABBED AS FIELD HOCKEY COACH
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/27/25) Dominican University of New York Director of Athletics, Joseph S. Clinton, has announced the hiring of Kelsie Stefkovich as the head coach of the field hockey team.
"We are very excited to have Kelsie join our staff as the department's first-ever field hockey coach," said Clinton. "Her passion and dedication for the sport of field hockey made her the ideal candidate to help us build a strong program."
Stefkovich comes to Dominican from Ramapo College where she spent the last two season at the helm of the Roadrunner field hockey program. She also served as an assistant coach on the field hockey staff in 2022 and on the women's lacrosse staff in 2023.
She was a member of the William Paterson University field hockey team for two seasons (2020 & 2021) where they who won the 2020 (Spring 2021) NJAC Championship. Stefkovich was a part of the Pioneer squad who earned the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.
"I would like to thank Coach Clinton, the athletic department, and the administration for bringing the sport of field hockey to Dominican and for trusting me to serve as the first head coach of the program," Stefkovich said. "Dominican provides an environment where I will be able to cultivate a strong, competitive, and passionate team and ensure my programs student athletes thrive on the field, in the classroom, and beyond. I'm honored to be a part of this new chapter and can't wait to see what the future holds for our team."
Stefkovich is a graduate of West Milford High School and attended Appalachian State University before transferring to WPU. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Physical Education (K-12) and earned a Health Education Certificate. Stefkovich has prior experience coaching West Milford's Youth travel field hockey team and with elite level camps and clinics.
After graduation, she joined the coaching staff at Falcon Athletics while also accepting a job as a middle school health & physical education teacher in Butler, NJ. Stefkovich also volunteered with the high school's field hockey program and West Milford High School girls lacrosse program.
