
PARDO NAMED CACC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR; ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM ANNOUNCED
New Haven, Conn. (4/30/24) Post University standout Bill Koch on Tuesday was named the 2023-24 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf Player of the Year as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Koch, who was also named to the All-CACC Team, earned the awards following the find round of conference rankings produced by Clippd, which is the stats and rankings provider of NCAA Golf.
Dominican University's Bruno Pardo joined Koch as major award winners as the Chargers' newcomer was named CACC Rookie of the Year. Goldey-Beacom College's TJ Dekmar was named the conference's coach of the year after guiding the Lightning to the CACC Championship and among the higher ranked teams in the recent NCAA Division II East Region rankings. Felician University was tabbed as the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award winner.
In addtion to Pardo, Alejandro Gomez Cervantes was also named to the All-CACC Team
Koch earned the league's top honor for the second season in a row. He won the CACC individual title in a playoff back in October at Watertown Golf Club in Connecticut. He finished among the top 10 in five tournaments this season including runner-up finishes at the Post Eagles Fall Invitational and the Penmen Spring Invitational. He carded under-par totals in three tournaments including a season-best three-under-par in both the CACC tournament and the Penmen event.
Pardo was the highest ranked CACC freshman in the final Clippd standings. He had an adjusted score of 75.8. He was named the CACC Player of the Month in March after finishing third at the Laker Spring Break Tournament with a two-round total of 141 (-3).
Gomez Cervantes makes his fourth appearance on the All-CACC Team. He had an adjusted score of 77.6. He won the FPU Fall Invitiational back in September and had two ther top five finishes in 2023-2024.
