WEATHER HALTS ROUND ONE PLAY AT NCAA ATLANTIC/EAST REGIONAL
Wheeling W.Va. (5/9/24) Inclement weather halted first round play today at the 2024 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional, hosted by West Liberty University, at Speidel Jones Golf Course.
Dominican University New York, along with eight other teams were unable to finish the first round due to inclement weather and standing water on the course. Four of the Chargers had completed play through 12 holes in the first round, while one has played the front nine.
Senior Alexander Lundvall (Stockholm, Sweden) is currently +1 through 12 holes, with one birdie on the front nine for a 37 score.
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Year, Bruno Pardo (Mexico City, Mexico) is also +1 through 12 holes. Pardo had two birdies on holes six and 11 and finished the front nine with a 37 score.
Senior Nicolas Arrieta-Guerra (Bucaramanga, Colombia) is +2 with a 38 on the front nine, while Brikke Decoster (Lebbeke, Belgium) is +4 through the front nine with a 40.
Alejandro Gomez Cervantes (Torreon, Mexico) is +7 through 12 holes, scoring a 43 on the front nine.
The top five teams and the top two individuals not among those teams go to the NCAA Championship in Winter Garden, FL, part of the organization's spring festival.
As a team, the Chargers are currently in a tie for 7th place. Round one will pick back up tomorrow morning at 7:30am with round two to begin at 9:30am.

Play has concluded for round one and the Chargers are in a tie for 15th place with a first round score of 309.
Pardo is in a tie for 20th place after finishing the round with a 74 score (+3). In the final six holes of the round, Pardo had a birdie on hole 13.
Lundvall finished with a 76 (+5) total score to tie for 33rd place, while Decoster is in a tie for 33rd place with a score of 78 (+8) and a birdie on hole 16.
Arrieta-Guerra shot an 81 (+10) in the first round to sit in a tie for 84th place and Gomez Cervantes is in 107th place with a first round score of 89.
