
LUNDVALL AND DECOSTER NAMED TO CACC MGOLF ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

New Haven, Conn. (5/23/24) Nineteen (19) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2023-24 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All seven CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
Post University, which finished runner-up at the conference championship tournament back in the fall, led the way with five honorees, while CACC champ Goldey-Beacom College followed with four student-athletes earning a spot on the list.
Dominican University New York had two players named to the team as Alexander Lundvall (Stockholm, Sweden) was named to the team for third time and Brikke Decoster (Lebbeke, Belgium) makes his first appearance on the team.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ Wilmington University's Jan Lekes was the lone student-athlete on the list to earn a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.
♦ Seven student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
♦ GBC's Hunter McGee earned the honor for the fourth time in his career.
♦ Dominican University's Alexander Lundvall and WilmU's Matthew Pulgini and Lekes were named to the team for the third time.
♦ Seven were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution (at least a sophomore both athletically and academically).
