CHARGERS PICKED SECOND IN CACC PRESEASON MEN'S BASKETBALL POLL

New Haven, Conn. (11/1/24)  Post University and Thomas Jefferson University have been selected for first place in the North and South Division, respectively, in the 2024-25 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll. The voting was conducted by the conference's 12 head coaches and the results were announced today by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara.

Post (21-10, 10-6 in 2023-24) was an at-large qualifier to the 2024 NCAA Division II East Region Championship tournament. Jefferson (23-9, 12-4) captured the South Division regular-season title a year ago before going on to win the CACC tournament crown.

The Eagles received 11 of 12 first-place votes and topped the North Division with 66 total points. Dominican University New York was given the other first-place vote and was selected for second place with 50 points. Bloomfield College received 43 points, and Caldwell University and Felician University tied for fourth with 35 points apiece. The University of Bridgeport collected 17 points.

Jefferson claimed six first-place votes and 60 points overall to lead the South Division. Goldey-Beacom College and Chestnut Hill College received three top votes apiece. GBC was chosen for second place with 52 points, and CHC a close third with 49. Rounding out the South Division balloting was Wilmington University (4th, 41 points), Holy Family University (5th, 27), and Georgian Court University (6th, 17).

The 2024-25 regular season begins on Friday, November 8, with conference action slated to start on Tuesday, December 3. The top four teams in each division will qualify for the CACC Championship tournament. The quarterfinals will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at campus sites, and Jefferson will host the semifinals and finals on March 8-9, 2025, at the Gallagher Athletic, Recreation and Convocation Center. The CACC champion will automatically qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division II East Region Championship.
