
CHARGERS DEFEAT RAVENS IN DAY TWO ACTION AT THE DANIEL SULLIVAN MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/17/24) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team defeated the visiting Ravens of Franklin Pierce University, 82-72, this evening in day two action of the 12th Annual Daniel Sullivan Memorial Tournament, hosted by Dominican on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the win Dominican improves to 2-1 on the season, while the Ravens fall to 0-5.
The Chargers never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 11 points (30-19) with 6:37 left in the first half. DUNY took advantage of 25 Raven turnovers to score 24 points, while FPU held a 43-42 advantage in rebounds.
Graduate student Jaden Honis led three Chargers in double figures with 21 points, while Chance Morrish came off the bench to net 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Juelz Dickerson netted 10 points and five caroms in the victory.
Center Emmanuel Smith pulled down a team best nine rebounds to go along with eight points and five blocks.
Demariontay Hall led Franklin Pierce with 22 points, while Donte Pope added 14 points.
The Chargers return to action on Friday evening when they host St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference clash on Coach Baxter Court. Tip-off is slated for 7pm.
