
SECOND HALF RALLY LIFTS MEN'S BASKETBALL OVER GOLDEN FALCONS
Rutherford, N.J. (12/7/24) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team rallied from a ten-point deficit (64-54) in the final 4:16 of regulation to defeat the Felician University Golden Falcons, 70-66, this afternoon in Central Atlantic College Conference (CACC) action played at Joal & Joseph Job Gymnasium.
With the win, the Chargers improve to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
DUNY trailed 64-54 with 4:16 to go when the offense got going with a 10-0 run to knot the score at 64-all. Isaiah Honis gave the Chargers their first lead of the second half with a three-point bucket from the corner for the 67-66 edge with 36 ticks left on the clock.
I. Honis then followed up with two clutch free throws with eight seconds to go to increase the lead to 69-66 and Koi D. Kirk, Jr. closed out the game with a free throw for the exciting 70-66 win.
I. Honis led three Chargers in double figures with 14 points and three steals.
Junior Kirk finished with 12 points and five rebounds, while Jaden Honis recorded 10 points, six rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Emmanuel Smith and Key'Sean Maynard scored eight points a-piece, with Maynard adding a team best five assists and Smith recording three blocks..
Tyler Edore pulled down five caroms in nine minutes of action.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Southern New Hampshire University on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center. Tip-off is slated for 4pm.
