
DOMINICAN DOWNS LIONS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN
Lakewood, N.J. (1/25/25) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team downed the Lions of Georgian Court University this afternoon in conference action at the GCU Wellness Center.
The Chargers, #8 in the D2CSC East Region Poll, earn their third straight win to improve to 12-6 overall and 7-1 in conference play. The Lions drop to 3-16 overall and 2-6 in the CACC.
Dominican opened the game strong on an 18-0 run and later extended their first half lead to 22 points.
The Chargers continued to stay hot in the second half putting up 43 points and held GCU to 32 points. Dominican finished the game shooting 56.9% from the field and did most of their damage in the paint outscoring GCU 56-12.
Dominican got a boost off the bench getting 35 points and forced 17 total GCU turnovers and cashed in 23 points off of GCU turnovers.
Jaden Honis led all scorers with 20 points going 7-10 from the field including a team-high three shots from downtown.
Emmanuel Smith went 6-9 from the field scoring 15 points while also pulling down seven rebounds. Koi D. Kirk, Jr. and Isaiah Honis each finished the game with eight points.
Chance Morrish scored 13 points off the bench going 6-7 from the field while freshman center Tyler Edore scored 10 points and pulled down a team-high eight boards off the bench.
The Chargers return home this Tuesday when they host CACC north division rival Caldwell University on Coach Baxter Court at 7:30 PM.
