
DOMINICAN DOWNS BLOOMFIELD TO EARN SEASON SERIES SPLIT WITH THE BEARS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/11/25) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team downed the Bears of Bloomfield College of MSU in a CACC north division battle on Coach Baxter Court.
The Chargers, #5 in the D2CSC East Region Poll, earn a split of the season series with the Bears and improve to 16-7 overall and 11-2 in conference play.
Dominican had a strong first half shooting 46.2% from the field as they took the lead early in the first half and extended to a double digit lead by halftime.
Dominican continued their strong play in the second half shooting 46.2% from the field again in the half and extended to their largest lead of the game which was 24 points as they secured the 88-73 victory.
Dominican scored 56 of their 88 points in the paint and scored 43 bench points. Dominican forced 16 BC turnovers which led to 23 points.
Emmanuel Smith led all scorers with 16 points on 7-12 from the field. Smith pulled down eight rebounds while also three assists, three steals, and one block. Koi D. Kirk, Jr. provided 15 points and five boards off the bench. Kirk shot 7-13 from the field.
Chance Morrish scored 10 points while adding a team-high four steals while Isaiah Honis picked up eight points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Tyler Edore scored nine points and Juelz Dickerson scored seven points while Reginald Dillard, Joshuel White, and Elijah Peters each finished with six points. Jaden Honis scored five points, recorded four boards, four assists, and two steals.
The Chargers return to action at home on Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Bridgeport.
