MEN'S BASKETBALL RANKED FIFTH IN EAST REGION

Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/27/25) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team is ranked fifth in week two of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball East Region Rankings as was released yesterday by regional advisory committee. The rankings consist of the top teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), East Coast Conference (ECC) and the Northeast-10 conference.

After being included in last week's initial under consideration rankings, the Chargers sit fifth in the East Region with an overall record of 18-7. They are one of two teams from the CACC to appear in the rankings as Caldwell University is ranked 10th. Daemen University holds the top spot in the region with an overall record of 24-0.

The Chargers have played five of the top ten teams this season and hold a 3-3 record with a sweep of Caldwell University and a win over Adelphi University.

The 2024-25 CACC North Division Regular Season Champions, Dominican will head into the upcoming CACC Basketball Championship Tournament as the overall #1 seed. DUNY has made appearances in the NCAA East Regional Tournament five out of the last six years. This year marks the first time since the 2012-2013 season where the Chargers won the CACC North Division Regular Season title.
