
#1 OVERALL SEED CHARGERS FALL IN CACC SEMIFINALS TO #3 IN THE NORTH PURPLE KNIGHTS
Philadelphia, Pa. (3/8/25) The #1 overall seed Chargers fell to the #3 seed in the north the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights in the CACC Men's Basketball Championship Semifinals at the Gallagher Center hosted by Thomas Jefferson University.
The Chargers fall to 20-8 overall after the 92-79 loss.
Sophomore guard Chance Morrish led all scorers with 19 points on 8-14 from the field. Junior guard Isaiah Honis picked up a double-double scoring 16 points while pulling down a game-high 10 boards. I. Honis also recorded four assists and four steals.
Jaden Honis finished with 12 points while freshman Tyler Edore scored 11 points and recorded six rebounds off the bench.
Bridgeport was led by Amadou Traore who scored 17 points on 8-9 from the field. Malikai Delgado scored 16 points and recorded five rebounds off the bench while Jason Edokpayi scored 14 points and shared a team-high eight boards off the bench.
Aliou Cisse also scored 14 points while Jayson Handy recorded a shared team-high eight boards.
Bridgeport extended to their largest lead of the first half which was 14 points with just over three minutes to play. Dominican finished the first half on a 12-4 run to cut the deficit to 41-35 by halftime.
Bridgeport built their lead back to double digits early on in the second half and later pushed their lead to 16 which was their largest of the game. UB continued to add to their lead as they extended to a 19 point lead.
Dominican fought back down the stretch cutting the deficit back to single digits after I. Honis hit a three-pointer with 1:49 remaining.
UB extended their lead back to double digits and held Dominican defensively on their way to the 92-79 victory.
