
DOMINICAN'S JONES NAMED TO ALL-ECC MEN'S LACROSSE TEAM
Orangeburg, NY (5/11/11) Dominican College men's lacrosse player, Alex Jones, has been named to the All-East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Lacrosse Second Team as was announced today by the conference office. Teammate Jesse Peterson received Honorable Mention honors.
Orangeburg, NY (5/11/11) Dominican College men's lacrosse player, Alex Jones, has been named to the All-East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Lacrosse Second Team as was announced today by the conference office. Teammate Jesse Peterson received Honorable Mention honors.
Jones, a senior midfielder who hails from St. Albert, AB, Canada, led the Chargers in goals and points for the second consecutive season. He ranks ninth in the ECC in goals per game. He leaves Dominican as the All-Time Leader in Goals and Points with 134 goals and 167 ponts. In 2010, he received All-ECC Honorable Mention Honors.
Peterson, also a senior midfielder who is from Saskatoon, Sasktachewan, Canada, led the team in assists and was second on the team in goals and points this season. He has been a two-year team captain and will leave the Chargers in second place in All-Time Assists and All-Time Points, with 67 assists and 122 points, respectively. In 2010, he was named the Dominican College Top Male Junior Scholar Athlete and was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Men's At-Large Second Team. In 2009, Peterson led the team in assists and was the recipient of the Dominic Guzman Award. He was also named Dominican College Top Male Sophomore Scholar Athlete and was the 2009 East Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
