
PETERSON TABBED ECC MEN'S LACROSSE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Central Islip, NY (6/1/11) The East Coast Conference announced the 2010‐2011 Male and Female Scholar‐Athletes of the Year, as well as the Scholar‐Athletes of the Year for all of its sponsored sports at the ECC Awards Dinner on May 25. Dominican's Jesse Peterson has been named the Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete.

Vladimir Milosavljevic of the Dowling College men's soccer team was named the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and Rachael Goldstein of the Dowling College women's lacrosse team took home the Female Scholar‐Athlete of the Year.
Peterson, a senior midfielder from Sasktaoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, earns his second ECC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's lacrosse as he previously won the honor in 2009. He holds a 3.94 GPA as a biology major and tallied 41 points on the season off 24 goals and 17 assists to be named to the ECC All‐Conference Honorable Mention squad. This season he led the team in assists and was second on the team in goals and points this season. He has been a two-year team captain and will leave the Chargers in second place in All-Time Assists and All-Time Points.
Peterson also made his second apperance on the Capital One Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team as he was also named to the Second Team in 2010.
