CHARGERS EARN VICTORY OVER COUGARS

With the win Dominican improves to 4-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Prior to the start of the contest, the team hoored seniors #0 Joseph DeRosa (Jackson, N.J.), #7 Terence O'Loughlin (Nanuet, N.Y.), #11 William Gordon (Amityville, N.Y.), #31 Cole Vencak (Smithtown, N.Y.), #33 Steffen Peabody (Brookhaven, N.Y.), #88 Charlie Bassi (Allentown, N.J.) and #99 Brian Barker (Wyckoff, N.J.).
Caldwell led 2-1 after one quarter of play, but Dominican rallied with six scores in the second to take a 7-5 lead at the intermission. A four-goal third quarter increased the advantage to 11-7, but the Cougars made the game close with a 4-1 run in the final quarter for the final 12-11 Charger victory.
Freshman Sean Cosgrove (Warwick, N.Y.) netted three goals and three assists in the win.
Zachary Souza (Stratford, Conn.) added three goals and one assist, while Gordon finished with two goals, including the game-winner on the man-up opportunity with 14:26 left in the fourth quarter, and two assists.
Attacker Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) scored one goal and one assists, with Brenden O'Connor (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), Eric Greenwood (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and Vencak all recording a goal.
Goalkeeper Peabody had a career high 23 saves in the win and tallied two assists.
Dominican returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Felician University.
