Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/1/25) The Dominican University New York men's lacrosse team fell in non-conference action to the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University today on O'Brien Field.
The Chargers fall to 0-3 overall while the Ravens improve to 1-3 overall.
FPU goalkeeper Sean Cote earned the win in net for the Ravens while making 15 total saves. DU keeper Bryce Layton made eight saves but suffered the loss.
After a low scoring first half saw both team enter halftime locked at 4-4, Dominican scored the first goal of the third quarter to take their first lead of the game.
The Ravens answered by going on a 7-2 run the rest of the way as they secured the 11-7 victory.
The Chargers were led by Chad Keyser who scored two goals on six shots while also picking up two ground balls.
Sean Cosgrove scored one goal and recorded team-highs in assists with two and ground balls with three. Zachary Smiley, Zamar Faith, Aiden McGrath, and Steven Dupras each netted one goal. Dupras took a team-high seven shots while Josh Wesneski recorded a team-high two caused turnovers.
The Ravens were led by Aidan Gibbons who scored four goals on seven shots. Jackson Phillion scored a hat trick while Caleb White scored two goals and led in assists with three.
The Chargers return to action next Thursday when they visit the University of the District of Columbia.
