
KEYSER RECORDS CAREER HIGHS IN VICTORY OVER FIREBIRDS
Washington, DC (3/6/25) Junior attacker Chad Keyser scored a career high six goals and eight game points to lead the Dominican University New York men's lacrosse team to a 14-8 victory over the Firebirds of the University of the District of Columbia this evening in non-conference action.
With the win the Chargers improve to 1-3 overall, while UDC falls to 0-3 on the season.
Keyser led the way with six goals and two assists for a total of eight game points.
Attacker Nickolas Paletta tallied three goals and one assist for four points, while Sean Cosgrove added two goals and one assist for three points.
Zamar Faith and Josh Wesneski each had a score, with Steven Dupras adding one goal and one assist in the win.
Goalkeeper Bryce Layton made a season high 12 saves.
The game was tied 5-5 at the break with both teams scoring four goals in the first quarter and one goal in the second. The Chargers secured the victory by outscoring the Firebirds 3-0 in the third period to claim an 8-5 advantage and tacked on six more scores in the final 15 minutes en route to the 14-8 victory.
Dominican went 18-20 in clear attempts (15-15 through the first three quarters), picked up 38 ground balls and outshot their opponents, 45-30 in the contest.
The Chargers return to action on Sunday morning when they face off against Virigina State University. Game time is set for 11am.
