Newark, Del. (3/15/25) The Dominican University New York men's lacrosse team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action to host, Wilmington University, 31-2 this afternoon in a game played at the WU Athletics Complex.
Following the loss the Chargers now stand at 2-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while the 'Cats improv to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the CACC.
Junior Sean Cosgrove scored an unassisted goal with 11 minutes remaining in the first quarter to break up a 3-0 WU run.
The Wildcats went on to score the next 23 straight goals, until attacker Jack Sherry scored his second goal of the season off the pass from Jesse Bentrewicz with 2:14 remaining in the third quarter.
Bryce Layton made eight saves in 20:41 of action, while Jake Mahan had 13 saves in the final 39:19.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host St. Thomas Aquinas College at 4pm on O'Brien Field.
