CHARGERS FALL TO PURPLE KNIGHTS IN CACC OPENER

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/18/24) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team suffered a conference loss in their CACC opener to the University of Bridgeport. 

The Chargers fall to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play while the Purple Knights improve to 2-1-2 and 1-0 in conference play.

Joshua Kaandorp made nine saves but suffered the loss. UB goalkeeper Hugo Franceschi recorded the win and made five saves.

Lapo Romieri scored 2:35 into the first half for the 1-0 lead and the score remained until halftime. UB scored three more goals in the second half on their way to the 4-0 win.

Enzo Beatrix scored one goal and recorded one assist in the win while Ewen Le Cozic and Ugo Drieu each scored. Shon Ryan added one assist. 

Alex Garcia Buil led the Chargers in shots with three while Matheus Carneiro Xavier and Gaetan Mainaud each took two shots. 

The Chargers return to action this Saturday when they host the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University on O'Brien Field at 2:30 PM.
