Wilmington, Del. (10/19/24) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action to host, Goldey-Beacom College, 2-1 this afternoon in a game played at NCS Field.
GBC improves to 4-9 overall and 3-4 in conference play, while the Chargers fall to 2-8-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the CACC.
The Chargers got on the scoreboard in the 24th minute when Armando Morales scored a goal on a penalty kick opportunity for the early 1-0 lead.
Dominican would maintain the lead until the 75:10 mark when the Lightning got on the board. GBC scored the game-winning goal at 84:54 to earn the 2-1 victory.
GBC outshot the Chargers, 19-10, while both teams had three corner kicks each in the contest.
Charger goalie Joshua Kaandorp made three saves during the game.
Dominican returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Post University in a CACC contest to be played on O'Brien Field. Kickoff is slated for 3pm.
