LAUREDENT WINS TRIPLE JUMP AT GOLDEN RAM INVITATIONAL
West Chester, Pa. (4/6/24) The Dominican University New York men's track and field team traveled to the Golden Ram Invitational today, hosted by West Chester University.
Kenney Lauredent (Pomona, N.Y.) won the triple jump event, while Nicalis Williams (Cohoes, N.Y.) finished in second place.
The 4x100m relay team also had a second place finish, while the 4x400m 'A' team took third place.
RESULTS
- Senior Lauredent won the triple jump event with a jump of 12.69m (41' 7.75"). Williams took second place with a jump of 12.60m (41' 4.25"), while Nate Thomas (Chicago, Ill.) finished in fourth place with a jump of 11.35m (37' 3"). Jeffrey Li Rivera (Suffern, N.Y.) took fifth place with a jump of 10.97m (36' 0").
- The 4x100m relay team of Lauredent, Amani Acosta (Warwick, N.Y.), Williams and Dariel Suarez (North Bergen, N.J.) had the high finish of second place with a time of 47.07.
- Thiea Shea (Kingston, Jamaica), Samuel Fileen (Monroe, N.Y.), Steven Smith (Yonkers, N.Y.) and David Castro (Nyack, N.Y.) took third place in the 4x400m relay. Prince Copeland (Haverstraw, N.Y.), Aidan Nelson (Tappan, N.Y.), Jose Grullon (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Jehu Ermilus (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished in seventh place with a time of 3:50.17 and Thomas, Sam Samala (Nanuet, N.Y.), Connor Grable (Laurelton, N.Y.) and Li Rivera took ninth place with a time of 4:05.03
- The 400m hurdle event saw Thomas have the finish of fourth place with a time of 1:03.54. Li Rivera took sixth place with a time of 1:13.42, while Jameel Richardson (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished in seventh place with a tine of 1:14.60.
- Lauredent took part in the long jump event where he placed fourth with a jump of 5.96m (19' 6.75"). Li Rivera took ninth place with a jump of 5.61m (18'5") and Williams finished in 10th place with a jump of 5.53m (18' 1.75"). Acosta took 12th place with a jump of 5.47m (17' 11.5") and Thomas finished in 19th place with a jump of 5.18m (17'0").
- Sophomore Nelson had a finish of fifth place in the 1500m run with a time of 4:35.47. Copeland took sixth place with a time of 4:39.23 and Zachary Dertinger (Livingston Manor, N.Y.) finished in 11th place with a time of 5:00.97. Eslian Henriquez Flores (Monroe, N.Y.) ran a time of 5:16.59 to finish in 12th place.
- Williams also competed in the high jump and took fifth place with a jump of 1.75m (5'8.75").
- In the 800 run, Grullon had a sixth place with a time of 2:12.79 and Ermilus inished in 11th place with a time of 2:17.01.
- Fileen competed in the 400m dash and took seventh place with a time of 52.96. Shea finished in ninth place with a time of 53.62, while Grable took 19th place with a time of 55.48. Castro had a time of 55.92 to finish in 21st place and Samala took 26th place with a time of 56.84.
- Lawrence Ribeiro (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) competed in the hammer event and took seventh place with a throw of 28.85m (94' 8").
- Ribeiro also competed in the discus event where he finished in ninth place with a throw of 22.82m (74' 10") and the shot put where he took 10th place with a throw of 9.52m (31' 3").
- Senior Suarez took 10th place in the 100m dash with a time of 11.84. Acosta finished in 15th place with a time of 11.97 and Aidan Mallon (Bohemia, N.Y.) ran a time of 12.59 to finish in 21st place.
- Suarez also took part in the 200m dash and finished in 22nd place with a time of 24.39. Acosta took 29th place with a tine of 24.87, while Mallon FInished in 37th place with a time of 26.74.
