
WILLIAMS, FILEEN TAKE TOP SPOTS AT RAMAPO INVITATIONAL
Mahwah, N.J. (3/30/35) The Dominican University New York men's track and field team competed at the Ramapo College Track and Field Invitational held Friday and Saturday on the campus of RCNJ.
Aaron Williams won the 100m and 200m dash.
Junior Samuel Fileen took the top spot in the 400m dash.
The 4x800m relay team of Deshawn Douglas, Aidan Nelson, Samuel Fileen and Prince Copeland took second place in the event.
Jeffrey Li Rivera was the other top five finisher as he took fourth in the 110m hurdles.
SATURDAY'S RESULTS
- Aaron Williams won the 100m dash with a time of 10.79.
- In the 100m dash prelims, Williams finished fifth with a time of 10.91, while Maurice Douglas took 11th place with a time of 11.23. The unseeded race saw Aidan Mallon take 24th place with a time of 12.03.
- Williams also took the top spot in the 200m dash with a time of 21.81. Thiea Shea finished in 14th place with a time of 22.99, while Douglas took 21st place with a time of 23.20. Jameel Richardson finished in 31st place with a time of 23.91 and Mallon ran a time of 24.66 to finish in 46th place.
- The 4x800m relay team of Deshawn Douglas, Aidan Nelson, Samuel Fileen and Prince Copeland ran a time of 8:15.29 to take second place in the event.
- Junior Fileen won the 400m dash with a time of 49.86. Shea took 14th place with a time of 52.80, while Sam Samala finished in 28th place with a time of 55.68. Richardson took 35th place with a time of 57.86.
- Jeffrey Li Rivera finished fourth in the 110m hurdles event with a time of 15.71. Jean Franco Del Valle took seventh place with a time of 15.95. In the prelims of the event, Rivera ran a time of 15.54 to take third place and Del Valle had a time of 16.38 to finish in seventh place.
- The 4x100m relay team of Mallon, Williams, Rivera and Douglas took seventh place with a time of 44.04.
- Del Valle also competed in the high jump where he finished in seventh place with a jump of 1.79m (5'10.5").
- The triple jump event saw Rivera take 11th place with a jump of 12.18m (39'11.5").
- In the 1500m run, Douglas finished in 10th place with a time of 4:18.44. Nelson took 26th place with a time of 4:33.37, while Copeland finished in 27th place with a time of 4:34.04. Zachary Dertinger took 47th place with a time of 4:57.62, while Eslian Henriquez Flores finished in 55th place with a time of 5:25.12.
- Rivera also took part in the long jump event where he took 17th place with a jump of 5.95m (19' 6.25").
FRIDAY'S RESULTS
- Nelson competed in the 3000m steeplechase where he took eighth place with a time of 11:02.83.
- Dertinger took 23rd place in the 5000m run with a time of 18:26.12. Flores finished in 28th place with a time of 20:12.33.
