WARRIORS RALLY TO DEFEAT MEN'S VOLLEYBALL
North Andover, Mass. (3/1/24) The Merrimack College men's volleyball team rallied after dropping the first set to defeat the Dominican University New York Chargers, 3-1, this evening in a non-conference match played on Hammel Court.
Dominican won the opening set by the score of 25-23 before MC won the next three; 24-26, 19-25, 22-25 to bring home the 3-1 match victory.
With the win the Warriors improve to 5-7 overall, while the Chargers fall to 7-7 on the season.
The Chargers recorded 13 kills in their set win, while recording a .265 attack percentage.
Freshman outside hitter Phinehas Wiley (Cedarburg, Wis.) led the team with 14 kills and eight digs.
Ayden Shaw (Centennial, Colo.) recorded 13 kills and seven digs, while setter Luke Koster (Geneva, Ill.) tallied 30 assists.
Libero Tyler Roukey (Hudson, Ohio) had a team leading 12 digs.
Freshman Jacob Davidson (Bloomington, Ind.) added eight kills and seven digs in the loss.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to American International College in an East Coast Conference (ECC) match.
