
CHARGERS FALL TO FDU
Hackensack, N.J. (3/7/25) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team fell in non-conference action to the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson University.
The Chargers fall to 5-13 overall on the season after the 3-0 loss.
FDU opened the match with a 25-20 victory for the 1-0 lead. FDU pushed their lead to 2-0 after winning a back and forth second set. FDU went on a 7-0 run early and later Dominican fought back with a 6-0 run. FDU closed out the second set 25-22.
FDU closed out the sweep after securing the third set 25-19 as they scored the final four points of the set.
Ayden Shaw and Blake Krapf combined for 13 kills with Shaw recording a team-high seven and Krapf finishing with six. Krapf also had two block assists and three service aces for a team-high 10 points.
ECC Rookie and Setter of the Week Jamel Toste recorded a team-high 25 assists and added four block assists. Daniel Malcolm recorded a team-high five block assists and added one solo block for a total of six blocks.
The Chargers return home on Monday night for a rematch with the FDU Knights on Coach Baxter Court at 7:00 PM.
