
CHARGERS DROP CONFERENCE MATCH TO STAC
Orangrburg, N.Y. (3/16/25) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team fell in conference action to the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College in three sets this afternoon on Coach Baxter Court.
The Chargers fall to 5-15 overall and 2-1 in conference play while the Spartans improve to 11-7 overall and 3-0 in conference.
STAC took a 1-0 match lead after a 25-17 win in the opening set and then followed up with a 25-19 win in the second set.
Both teams played a back and forth third set with the largest lead of the set being three points. Down the stretch of the third set, both teams traded points but STAC scored the final two points to win 26-24 and complete the sweep.
Blake Krapf led the way for the Chargers with 10 kills and 10.5 points scored. Daniel Malcolm scored 8.5 points on seven kills and three block assists. Tyler Roukey and Alejandro Miranda each recorded a team-high five digs.
Ayden Shaw also recorded three block assists while Tommaso Falchi had team-highs in service aces with two and block assists with four. Jamel Toste recorded a team-high 18 assists.
The Chargers return to action this Thursday when they host Merrimack College at 5:00 PM.
