
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL LOSE TO MERRIMACK COLLEGE
North Andover, Mass. (3/22/25) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team fell in non-conference action to host, Merrimack College, 3-2, this evening in a game played at Bert Hammel Court.
Following the loss, the Chargers now stand at 5-17 on the season.
Dominican won the first two sets by scores of 26-24 and 25-22, but fell in the next three by scores of 22-25, 18-25, 13-25 to give the Warriors the 3-2 victory.
A kill from Daniel Malcolm tied the first set at 23-all and a Warrior attack error put the Chargers at set point, 24-23. A set error re-tied the set at 24-all, but a MC service error and attack error lifted the Chargers to the 26-24 win. Dominican recorded 11 kills in the first set for a .333 attack percentage.
The second set was tied at 22-22 when a service error put Dominican up 23-22. Back-to-back kills from Ayden Shaw gave the Chargers the 25-22 set win and put them ahead 2-0.
Merrimack won the next two sets to tie the match at 2-2 and with the fifth set tied at 13-13, the Warriors recorded the next two points for the 15-13 win and 302 match victory.
Shaw led the Chargers with 12 kills and six digs.
Outside hitter Blake Krapf tallied 11 kills, eight digs and four block assists, while libero Tyler Roukey had 10 digs.
Setter Jamel Toste recorded team bests of 28 assists and 15 digs in the loss.
Dominican returns to action on Friday evening when they host Roberts Wesleyan University at 5pm on Coach Baxter Court.
