
CHARGERS FALL IN ECC BATTLE TO REDHAWKS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/28/25) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team fell in conference action to the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University on Coach Baxter Court.
Both teams split the first two sets and then the Redhawks won back to back sets to take the match 3-1.
The Chargers took the season series 2-1 in three matches but split the conference matches.
Dominican now stands at 5-18 overall and 2-2 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play. The Redhawks improve to 9-16 overall and 2-2 in the ECC.
Every set was a back and forth battle as the Redhawks won the opening set 25-23. Dominican bounced back with a 26-24 win after earning the final three points of the set.
Another back and forth battle in the third set saw the Redhawks outlast the Chargers 32-30 and then closed out the match with a 25-23 win in the fourth set.
Blake Krapf and Ayden Shaw combined for 23 kills to lead the Chargers. Krapf and Shaw each record six digs and two block assists. Krapf added one service ace and one solo block.
Tyler Roukey finished with a team-high eight digs while Daniel Malcom added five kills and a team-high four block assists.
Gavin Tate recorded eight kills while Tommaso Falchi finished with six kills. Jamel Toste had a team-high 41 assists while also adding five digs and three block assists.
The Chargers host D'Youville University on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 PM in the Hennessy Center.
