CACC CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS SET FOR SUNDAY

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (10/23/24) The 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Cross-Country Championships will be held on Sunday, October 27, at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pa. The men's 8,000-meter championship will take place at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 5,000-meter race at 10 a.m. The event will be hosted by Thomas Jefferson University.
Wilmington University won the men's team title in 2023. The Wildcats are one of two CACC teams to appear in this year's final regular-season U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association Division II East Regional ranking, slotting in at No. 6. Wilmington returns three all-conference performers from a year ago, including its 2024 frontrunner, Trent Taylor.
Caldwell University, which is ranked seventh regionally, seeks its first conference championship. The Cougars feature the two-time defending CACC Runner of the Year in senior Joey Datta.
Jefferson, the 2023 women's champion, is the only CACC women's squad listed in the final 2024 regular-season USTFCCCA regional ranking, sitting at No. 9. The Rams have been led by senior Ana Eshraghi, last year's conference Runner of the Year, and junior Annalee Capuano among four returning all-conference competitors.
The top four runners from last year's women's championship race return -- Eshragi, Holy Family University's Emma McNamee, Sydney Watts of Chestnut Hill College, and Goldey-Beacom College's Ny'jashia Smith.

The CACC Cross-Country Championships were first contested in 2000. Felician University owns the most men's team titles with nine, while Philadelphia University/Jefferson has claimed 13 women's crowns.
