THREE SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-CACC ACCOLADES
Orangeburg, NY (5/3/11) Three Dominican College softball players have earned All-CACC First Team accolades as was announced today by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) office. Rachel Ruch of Georgian Court University has been tabbed the 2011 CACC Player of the Year, while Wilmington University’s Katie Warrington was named Pitcher of the Year and Bloomfield College’s Angie Yoshizu claimed Rookie of the Year honors.

Rachel Ruch of Georgian Court University has been tabbed the 2011 CACC Player of the Year, while Wilmington University's Katie Warrington was named Pitcher of the Year and Bloomfield College's Angie Yoshizu claimed Rookie of the Year honors.
Concordia College's Kathy Laoutaris was voted Coach of the Year and Chestnut Hill College was given the annual Team Sportsmanship Award. The 14 head coaches conducted the voting for the All-Conference awards.
Sophomores Julie Plante, Ashley Corrao, and Delaney Childers were all named to the All-CACC First Team.
Plante, a shortstop from Swansea, MA, is currently in the top 20 in the conference and leads the Lady Chargers in hitting. She leads the team in hits, tied for second in runs scored, tied for first in doubles and third in RBIs after playing in all 46 games this season. She is also sporting a .952 fielding percentage. Last year she received Honorable Mention honors.
Corrao, catcher who hails from Staten Island, NY, is also in the top 20 and is second on the team in hitting. She is second on the team in hits, third in runs scored, third in doubles and leads the team in home runs. Last season she earned All-CACC Second Team honors.
Childers, a left-handed pitcher/outfielder from Johnstown, OH, is 18-6, on the season with an ERA of 1.68. In 167 IP, she has allowed 161 hits, 64 runs, 60 earned runs and tallied 163 strikeouts. Opponents are hitting .252 this season against her and she has recorded seven strikeouts. Childers was named to the All-CACC Second Team last year and was the CACC Rookie of the Year in 2010.
