SOFTBALL CONCLUDES SEASON WITH DH AGAINST GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/26/23) The Dominican University New York softball team concluded the 2023 season with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader loss to the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College in games played this afternoon. GBC won the opener, 10-1 in five innings and took the nightcap, 6-1.

(4/26/23) The Dominican University New York softball team concluded the 2023 season with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader loss to the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College in games played this afternoon. GBC won the opener, 10-1 in five innings and took the nightcap, 6-1.
With the losses the Lady Chargers end the season with an overall record of 11-35 and a CACC mark of 6-18.
Game One: GBC led 5-0 when Dominican got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second as senior Rebecca Haggerty (Grafton, Mass.) doubled home Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.) to make the score 5-1.
The Lightning added runs in the fourth and fifth stanzas to claim the 10-1 5 inning win.
Shortstop Chloe McIntosh (Menifee, Calif.) had two hits.
Senior Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.) suffered the loss.
Game Two: The Lightning struck for a run in the top of the first inning, but the Lady Chargers tied the score in the bottom of the second stanza as Haggerty reached base on a fielder's choice which allowed Raya to score.
GBC scored three runs in the third, one in the fifth and one in the seventh en route to the 6-1 win.
Senior Elizabeth Tolkan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and McIntosh both had two hits in the loss.
In between games, the team honored seniors: #22 Journey Limardo (Anaheim, Calif.), #34 Tolkan, #35 Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.), #55 Haggerty and #88 Raya.
