New Castle, Del. (3/22/25) The Dominican University New York softball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader to host, Wilmington University, in action today at Asbury Field. WU won the first game, 2-0 and took the second game, 8-0 in six innings.
Following the loss, the Lady Chargers now stand at 5-15 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Game One: WU scored a run in the first on a sac bunt and added a run in the bottom of the second on the RBI double to right field for the 2-0 victory.
Second basemen Toni-Jo Lopez had the lone hit for the Lady Chargers.
Starter Emily Baxter suffered the complete game loss, allowing two runs on five hits and three strikeouts.
Game Two: The nightcap saw the Wildcats score runs in each of the six innings en route to the 8-0 victory.
Lopez, Nicole Mata and Emily Angulo all recorded hits for the Lady Chargers in the loss.
Gianna Barbieri took the loss in four innings of work.
The Lady Chargers return to action tomorrow when they travel to Pace University.
