
MILLS SCORES 1,000TH CAREER POINT AS DOMINICAN DEFEATS SNHU IN THE 11TH ANNUAL REGINA RIVERA MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/16/24) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team defeated the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University in their first of two games in the 11th Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament.
Dominican improves to 3-1 overall while SNHU falls to 1-2 overall.
Guard Tanasha Mills scored her 1,000th career point in the fourth quarter of tonight's game. Mills finished the game with 11 points, five assists, four boards, and one steal.
Cayla Howard finished with a team-high 16 points and shared team-highs in rebounds with eight and steals with three.
Angelina DiMarsico and Tamia Nunes each scored nine points. DiMarsico went 3-6 from beyond the arc and added seven boards, four assists, and two steals. Nunes also recorded five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Emma Gribben provided 11 points and five boards off the bench. Chidinma Ndukauba scored six points and added eight boards.
Dominican finished the game 12-14 from the free throw line and hit 11 three-pointers. Dominican forced 26 SNHU turnovers and cashed in 29 points off of SNHU turnovers.
The Lady Chargers opened the game strong and led 22-7 in the first quarter and went into the second quarter with a 22-11 lead.
Dominican extended to their largest lead of the game which was 19 points in the second quarter and held a 39-27 lead by halftime.
SNHU would get as close as five points in the fourth quarter but Dominican stayed in front and secured the victory.
The Lady Chargers return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Franklin Pierce University to close out the 11th Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament.
