DOMINICAN DOWNS FRANKLIN PIERCE TO CLOSE OUT 11TH ANNUAL REGINA RIVERA MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/17/24) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team downed the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University as they closed out the 11th Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament.
Dominican went 2-0 on the weekend to improve to 4-1 overall on the season. FPU falls to 1-4 overall.
The Ravens won the opening quarter 15-13 but the Lady Chargers held FPU to six points in the second quarter and scored 16 to take a 29-21 lead into halftime.
Dominican used a big offensive effort in the third quarter to extend their lead and reach their largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter which was 30 points on their way to the 70-43 victory.
Tanasha Mills went 6-12 from the field and led the Lady Chargers with 15 points. Mills also contributed six rebounds and five assists.
Cayla Howard scored 12 points while also adding three boards, three assists, and two steals. Chidinma Ndukauba and Angelina DiMarsico each finished the game with 10 points. Ndukauba picked up six boards while DiMarsico recorded a team-high eight boards.
Tamia Nunes picked up seven boards, six assists which was a team-high, and eight points. Cloey Dopp also scored eight points off the bench.
Dominican finished the game shooting 44.4% from the field and added 10 three pointers.
The Lady Chargers return to action this Wednesday when they visit Mercy University for a non-conference game at 5:00 PM.
