LIONS TOP DOMINICAN AT KNIGHTS THANKSGIVING INVITATIONAL
Flushing, N.Y. (11/30/24) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team dropped a 76-52 decision to the Lions of Molloy University in game two of the Knights Thanksgiving Invitational, hosted by Queens College in South Gym.
With the loss, the Lady Chargers are now 6-2 on the season.
The Lady Chargers held their biggest lead of the game with 2:56 remaining in the first quarter when Angelina DiMarsico hit a three-point basket for the 15-9 advantage. Molloy would close out the quarter on a 12-6 run to amke the score 21-21.
The second and third quarters saw the Lions outscore DUNY, 20-12 and 18-5, to pull ahead 59-38 and would close out the game with 17 points in the fourth for the final 76-52 score.
Sophomore guard Tamia Nunes led three Dominican players in double figures with 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Forward Chidinma Ndukauba netted 12 points, while DiMarsico also scored 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Cayla Howard pulled down six rebounds and Dalana Taylor recorded four rebounds in the loss.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow at the Knights Thanksgiving Invitational when the take on the hosts, Queens College.
