LADY CHARGERS UPEND GOLDEN FALCONS
Rutherford, N.J. (12/7/24) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team won their seventh out of their last eight games and third straight as they downed the Golden Falcons of Felician University this afternoon at the Joal & Joseph Job Gymnasium in Rutherford, N.J.
Dominican, the #6 team in the D2CSC East Region Poll, defeated their CACC north division foe by a score of 69-47 to improve to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Dominican put up 19 points in the opening quarter and held a seven point at halftime after a low scoring second quarter. Dominican pushed their lead to 10 by the start of the fourth quarter and used a 13-3 run to extend to their largest lead of the game.
Dominican finished the game shooting 35% from the field and added a boost from the charity stripe going 19-22. Dominican cashed in 18 points off of 19 Felician turnovers.
Senior guard Angelina DiMarsico led the way with 22 points on 6-11 from the field and 3-4 from beyond the arc. DiMarsico went 7-7 from the free throw line and pulled down five boards.
Junior guard Cayla Howard recorded her third straight double-double after scoring 21 points and recorded a team-high 11 boards.
Center Chidinma Ndukauba scored 12 points while recording eight rebounds and added a team-high three blocks.
The Lady Chargers return to action next Sunday when they return home to host Assumption University on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center at 1:00 PM.
