
HOWARD SCORES 1,000TH CAREER POINT AS DOMINICAN DOWNS BLOOMFIELD
Bloomfield, N.J. (1/14/25) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team downed CACC north division rival Bloomfield College of MSU by a score of 81-66 at the Bloomfield College gym.
The Lady Chargers, #5 in the D2CSC East Region Poll, improves to 13-4 and 5-0 in conference play while also extending their winning streak to four straight games.
Junior guard Cayla Howard scored her 1,000th career point after a 15 point and 12 rebound performance for the double-double. Teammate Chidinma Ndukauba also picked up a double-double, her fourth on the year, with a team-high 13 boards and 17 points. Ndukauba also recorded a team-high three blocks.
Tanasha Mills scored a team-high 25 points on 5-9 shooting from the field including one three-pointer. Mills did most of her damage from the charity stripe going 14-16. Mills also dished out a team-high eight assists.
Sophomore Tamia Nunes went 6-11 from the field including two from beyond the arc and one free-throw for 15 points while also filling the stat sheet with nine boards, five assists, and a team-high four steals.
Angelina DiMarsico hit two shots from beyond the arc for six points while also adding four boards and two assists.
Dominican led by four points by halftime and extended to a double digit lead in the second half. The Bears cut the deficit to six points in the fourth quarter but the Lady Chargers answered by extending their lead to 17 points which was their largest for the game on their way to the victory.
Kamrin Babbs recorded a double-double for the Bears with 12 points and 12 boards. Bianca Ellis scored 11 points while Taneshia Tucker scored a game-high 26 points and eight boards.
The Lady Chargers return home this Saturday when they host the Wildcats of Wilmington University for a 1:00 PM tip-off in the Hennessy Center.
