
LADY CHARGERS SWEEP SEASON SERIES OVER EAGLES
Waterbury, Conn. (2/5/25) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team got back into the win column after they upended the Eagles of Post University in a CACC north division contest at the Drubner Center.
With the win, Dominican earns the season sweep over their north division opponent. The Lady Chargers, #4 in the D2CSC East Region Poll, improve to 18-5 overall and 10-1 in conference play.
Dominican opened the game with a 23 point effort in the first quarter and held Post to 11 points. The Eagles held the Lady Chargers to 10 points in the second quarter while scoring 14 and DU held a 33-25 lead by halftime.
DU lead by six points heading into the fourth quarter and Post cut the DU lead to two points with just under five minutes left to play. Dominican finished the game on a 19-10 run to close out the 76-65 victory.
Dominican finished the game shooting 44.1% from the field while also going 11-26 from beyond the arc and 5-10 from the charity stripe. Post outrebounded Dominican 48-34 and also held the edge in points in the paint. DU forced 21 Post turnovers and cashed in 18 points off of turnovers.
Junior guard Cayla Howard led the way for the Lady Chargers with 18 points and added five rebounds and three assists. Sophomore Tamia Nunes scored 17 points while picking up three assists, three steals, and shared a team-high seven boards.
Tanasha Mills added 14 points while dishing out a team-high seven assists and picked up three boards. Angelina DiMarsico scored 11 points on 4-5 shooting including 3-4 from beyond the arc. DiMarsico picked up a team-high five steals, two assists, and four boards.
Chidinma Ndukauba also recorded seven boards while scoring eight points and dished out three assists.
Post had two starters record double-doubles. Alyssa Rossingol led all scorers with 22 points on 9-16 from the field and pulled down 10 boards. Naj White also grabbed 10 boards while scoring 11 points.
The Lady Chargers return to action this Saturday when they travel to the campus of Chestnut Hill College for a CACC match up with the Griffins.
