
DOMINICAN DOWNS UNIVERSITY OF BRIDGEPORT
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/16/25) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team downed the visiting Purple Knights from the University of Bridgeport, 72-36, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division contest played today on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the win Dominican improves to 20-6 overall and 12-2 in conference play.
The Lady Charger offense got going early, quickly taking an 8-0 lead and jumping out to a 21-5 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Outscoring their opponents 14-8 in the second frame, Dominican extended their lead to 35-13 at the intermission and never looked back en route to the victory.
Sophomore Tamia Nunes led two Lady Chargers in double figures with 19 points, three rebounds and three steals.
Tanasha Mills scored 17 points, eight rebounds and a game best seven assists in the win.
Forward Chidinma Ndukauba recorded nine points, eight caroms and dished out five assists.
Prior to the start of the game, the team present Mills and junior Cayla Howard with their 1000 point balls. Both players reached the milestone earlier this season.
The Lady Chargers return to action next Saturday afternoon when they travel to Caldwell University.
