
LADY CHARGERS TURNED AWAY BY COUGARS
Caldwell, N.J. (2/22/25) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team dropped a CACC north division match up to the Cougars of Caldwell University this afternoon at the Newman Center.
The Lady Chargers, #4 in the D2CSC East Region Poll and picked in the NCAA East Region Poll, falls to 20-7 overall on the season and 12-3 in the CACC. The Cougars improve to 14-12 overall and 8-6 in conference play.
The Cougars put up 20 points in the first quarter and 25 in the second for a total of 45 for the half. CU held the Lady Chargers to 21 total points for the half, nine in the first quarter and 12 in the second.
Caldwell extended to their largest lead of the game which was 26 points in the third quarter. Dominican cut the deficit to 11 points in the third but CU held their lead throughout the rest of the game and secured the 61-48 win.
Dominican was led by Cayla Howard who scored a team-high 11 points while also adding four boards, two assists, two steals, and one block.
Chidinma Ndukauba and Tamia Nunes each scored 10 points in the loss. Nunes pulled down a team-high nine boards while also recording a team-high three steals, two blocks, and two assists. Ndukauba grabbed seven boards and recorded one assist.
Tanasha Mills and Iasbella Javier each finished with six points. Mills added four boards and three assists while Angelina DiMarsico added five points, three assists, three boards, and one steal.
The Lady Chargers return to action next Saturday, March 1st for their regular season finale at 1:00 PM against Felician University. Dominican will celebrate Senior Day on Coach Baxter Court before tip-off.
