
LADY CHARGERS RANKED IN NCAA EAST REGION RANKINGS

Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/27/25) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team has been ranked ninth in week two of the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Region Rankings as was released yesterday by regional advisory committee. The rankings consist of the top teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), East Coast Conference (ECC) and the Northeast-10 conference.
After being included in last week's initial under consideration rankings, the Lady Chargers sit ninth in the rankings with an overall record of 20-7. They are one of three teams from the CACC to appear in the rankings with Holy Family University being ranked fourth and Thomas Jefferson University being ranked eighth. Bentley University holds the top spot in the rankings with an overall record of 26-1.
Dominican holds a 2-4 record in six games played against five of the teams in the rankings. DUNY split a series with Thomas Jefferson University and earned a win over the College of Staten Island.
The Lady Chargers reached the 20-win plateau for the second time in the past three seasons.
The 2024-25 CACC North Division Regular Season Champions, the Lady Chargers have the potential of heading into the CACC Basketball Championship Tournament as the overall #1 seed. The team last made an appearance in the NCAA Regional Tournament during the 2022-2023 season.
