WOMEN'S BOWLING WRAPS UP FINAL TOURNAMENT OF THE SEASON
New Castle, Del. (2/18/24) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team earned two wins this weekend at the Wildcat DII Invitational hosted by Wilmington University.
Dominican finished day one 1-3 after falling to Kutztown University, Adelphi University, and Chestnut Hill College. The Lady Chargers earned a 706-597 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in their final matchup on day one.
Dominican went 0-5 on day two in the traditional matches and entered bracket play on the third and final day of the tournament.
Dominican faced Adelphi University for the second time in the weekend and fell in the best of seven series 4.5-2.5.
Dominican earned their second consecutive victory over STAC in the second round 4-2 in the best of seven. Dominican took the opening game but fell to STAC in the next two games. Dominican won three straight games to solidify the 4-2 series win.
Dominican completed the tournament with D'Youville University where they fell to the Saints 4.5-0.5 and completed the Wildcat DII Invitational in 12th place as a team.
Natalie Christopher (Oakland, N.J.) had the high finish for the Lady Chargers with a career high finish of 16th place in the individual standings. Christopher had an average of 198.40 in five games and posted a 992 total pin fall including a 221 game and a 219 game.
Briana Sinnott (Upper Nyack, N.Y.) finished in 38th place with a total pin fall of 859 including a 187 and a 185 game. Sinnott finished with an average of 171.80.
Caroline Dillon (Nyack, N.Y.) finished in 47th place with an average of 159.40 and a total pin fall of 797 including a high game of 197.
This concludes the inaugural 2023-2024 DU women's bowling season.
