LADY CHARGERS PLACE FOURTH AT FIRST CACC MEET
Rockaway, N.J. (11/10/24) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team opened their CACC schedule with the first CACC meet of the season.
Dominican traveled to Rockaway Lanes in Rockaway, N.J. for the two day weekend tournament hosted by Caldwell University. The tournament opened with the traditional format on Saturday followed by a Baker format on Sunday.
Dominican finished in fifth place with a 1-4 record on Saturday in the traditional matches. The Lady Chargers fell in their first four matches (Holy Family University, Caldwell University, Wilmington University, and Felician University).
Dominican finished the day strong with an 868-744 victory over Chestnut Hill College to complete the traditional round.
Freshman Kyra Walter was the top finisher for the Lady Chargers taking 4th place in the individual standings on day one finishing the day with a total pinfall of 923 and a sum average of 184.60. Walter posted two 200 games including a team-high 230 game.
Sophomore Natalie Christopher was the second Lady Charger to finish in the top 10 with a sum average of 177.40 and a total pinfall of 887. Christopher added two 200 games including a 220 in game five.
Freshman Stephanie O'Malley finished in 14th place with a total pinfall of 847 while Angelina Tati finished in 19th place and Briana Sinnott finished in 20th place.
Day two saw the Lady Chargers go 4-1 in the baker matches. Dominican won the first four matches which included edging host school Caldwell University in the opening match 836-832. Dominican fell in the final match to Wilmington University.
The Lady Chargers jumped into fourth place by the end of the tournament with a 172.3 team average. Dominican now holds an overall record of 14-16 on the season.
The Lady Chargers return to action next weekend when they travel to AMF Woodlawn Lanes in Gwynn Oak, Md. for the CSU Lady Eagles Invitational hosted by Coppin State University.
