LADY CHARGERS WRAP UP 2024 FALL SCHEDULE AT GARDEN STATE CLASSIC
Howell, N.J. (/11/25/24) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team wrapped up their 2024 fall season schedule this weekend at the Garden State Classic from Howell Lanes in Howell, N.J. hosted by Monmouth University.
Day One: Dominican opened the tournament with baker matches on Friday where they faced Maryville University, Jacksonville State University, Vanderbilt University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Duquesne University.
Dominican went 0-5 on day one and posted scores of 873-909-896-833-926 in their five matches. The Lady Chargers were in 15th place of 20 by the end of day one.
Day Two: Dominican earned two wins in the traditional round on day two. The Lady Chargers earned wins in their opening match with host school Monmouth University 939-923 while also earning a win in their final match with Adelphi University 866-776.
Freshman Kyra Walter was the top finisher in the individual standings finishing with a sum average of 204.40 for 17th place out of 137 bowlers. Walter posted scores of 212-219-186-204-201 to earn a total pinfall of 1,022.
Freshman Stephanie O'Malley averaged 186.60 with a high game of 202 and a total pinfall of 933 for 37th place. Natalie Christopher finished with a sum average of 172.80 for a 54th place finish while CACC Rookie of the Week Angelina Tati finished with a sum average of 170.00 for 56th place.
The Lady Chargers finished day two with a 2-3 record and dropped to 16th place in the team standings ahead of the final day on Sunday.
Day Three: Dominican entered the third and final day of the three day tournament in 16th place for the baker match play.
Dominican drew Bryant University to open the day where they split the first two games but won three in a row to earne the 4-1 win as they prepared for the second round.
Dominican's second round match with Wilmington University went the whole seven games but Wilmington got the win by defeating DU in the tiebreaker.
In the position round match, Dominican faced Bryant University again where they fell 4-0 and finished in 16th place for the weekend.
Dominican now holds an overall record of 22-30.
This completes the 2024 fall season, the Lady Chargers will return to action in 2025 when they compete in the Northeast Classic on January 17th in their first of eight tournaments of spring 2025.
